Understanding the Benefits of a Farmer’s Market

A farmers’ market is primarily a traditional means of selling agricultural and home made products. The specialty of farmers’ market merchandise is that it is grown in the local area, and thus is very fresh and full of vitamins and minerals. In addition to fresh vegetables and fruits, farmers’ markets also supply consumers with honey, seedlings, heritage variety of meat and fowl, heirloom produce and other agricultural items. The commodities found in farmers market are superior in comparison to those found in supermarkets which are habitually harvested long before they are matured to assist in storing and transportation. They are then gassed to persuade ripening before ending up in traditional and super markets.
