Health And Fitness Tips To Get You Started

Many Americans spend more time in their car than anywhere else. For many, it has become their office with a phone and computer. Being in the car so much really can make it difficult to stay healthy and fit. What can be done to stay healthy while on the road?
If you are eating out all the time, realize that this can add extra pounds if you’re not careful. Try packing food in a cooler. It is very easy to take along healthy finger foods that are easy to eat while driving, such as turkey sandwiches, fruit, raw vegetables, salads, pretzels and water. Sometimes even meal-replacement bars and ready-to-drink shakes may be helpful when you don’t have time for a full meal.
As far as exercise, try to avoid sitting in the car for more than a couple of hours at a time. Take a break at rest stops and go for a short, brisk walk. This will help circulate the blood throughout your body and will help alleviate pain and stiffness you can feel by sitting for prolonged periods. This also will enhance alertness.
People who eat healthy and work out will also have great bodies and are more physically attractive. They are more likely to have better sex life and more romantic involvements, which in turn can make them more satisfied with life. These things are chained situations. Start in a positive light and you will end with a positive light too.
For fitness-training improvements, do three to five continuous cardiovascular training workouts per week at an intensity of 60 percent to 90 percent of your maximum heart rate. To calculate your estimated heart-rate maximum, simply subtract your age from 220. Beginning exercisers should multiply this number by 60 percent to 70 percent. Advanced exercisers should multiply this number by 70 percent to 90 percent.
Have discipline - This is one of the few things that will make or break your plans to finally live a healthy lifestyle. In order to really stick to the plan, you need to develop self-discipline especially when it involves things that you really want to do or things that you are used to doing. Temptations along the way will be many and you need to be prepared to face all that!
Once you have decided on your overall fitness goal and your weekly workout plan, you need to log it, to make sure that you are sticking to the program. Your fitness chart should also include some reminders of where you started and how far you have come.
