Colon Cleanse Scams - Bowtrol

Bowtrol is one of the most heavily marketed colon cleansers on the market today. There are many advertisements for the product as well as many websites that are promoting it. But what really can you expect from Bowtrol? Unfortunately, Bowtrol isn’t much better than many of the other colon cleanse scams that we see. The following is a brief overview of my Bowtrol Review. First I look at the product itself and then I focus on the business practices of the company behind the product.
First off, I’ve got to give a hand to Bowtrol for actually providing a list of their ingredients. Most colon cleansers with a one page website like Bowtrol’s don’t even supply a basic list of ingredients. I was happy to see that Bowtrol provided the list of the ingredients as well as a basic description of each ingredient. The ingredients in Bowtrol look to be very similar to many other colon cleansers, I wouldn’t expect it to be any more effective than the other options on the market.
Unfortunately, Bowtrol uses the same free trial offer sales tactic that many others do. If you accept the free trial, you are automatically enrolled in the autoship program. If you don’t cancel the program within 21 days, you’ll start seeing charges of $89.90 on your credit card. Not only that, I found some complaints that reported difficulty in getting Bowtrol to cancel the autoship once they were in it. Other’s were having problems getting any money refunded once it had been taken out. It looks like Bowtrol is doing the same scam that many others are doing as well.
But it gets worse. When looking through their fine print I found their not so private privacy policy. If you look long enough, you’ll find that they reserve the right (and will) sell all of your personal information to basically anyone that they want to. So in short, unless you want your junk mail and telemarketing calls to sky rocket, don’t give them any information at all.
The Bowtrol guarantee is better than some, but has it’s downsides as well. It’s full 90 days which is really good. Where it goes downhill, however, is when they charge you a $10 restocking fee and only allow you return unopened bottles. You also need a return authorization which you can only get if you request it online (there’s a higher likelihood of them not granting your authorization).
Another surprise came when I looked up the company on the BBB website. They rated the Bowtrol Corporation as an A-. They had zero complaints. How could this be? I eventually found the filing date for the company in the Sate of California. It was 1/8/2009. So it’s only been around for a couple months. This certainly isn’t much time for people to file complaints with the BBB. I assuming that their rating will come down in the next little while.
To wrap up this review, Bowtrol is little more than a scam. The product itself seems decent with a good amount of ingredients. But the business practices of the company are more than enough to convince me to stay away from the company. Unfortunately, there will be a lot of people that still get scammed by Bowtrol. At least you can now make sure that you’re not one of them.
Colon Cleanse Review - ColonSmart

One colon cleanse product whose popularity seems to be decreasing is ColonSmart. And probably for good reason. While reviewing ColonSmart I found a number of issues that the consumers should most definitely be aware of before purchasing from the company. Read on to see what I found.
As far as the product itself goes, I see no big red flags here. ColonSmart has many of the commonly used fiber-based ingredients found in many other colon cleansers on the market. Ingredients include: psyllium, licorice, rhubarb, buckthorne, fennel, ginger, cascara sagrada, and goldenseal. I see no reason why it shouldn’t be relatively effective.
The company behind ColonSmart is located in California. The Better Business Bureau didn’t much good to say about them. Because of complaints about their business practices, the BBB gave them an F rating. These complaints ranged from unauthorized shipments and credit card charges to not being able to cancel automatic charges to not being refunded their money once the product was returned. This kind of rating and these kinds of complaints are never a good sign.
As mentioned, one of the complaints was the unauthorized credit card charges. Like many other free trial scams, when you order the trial you are automatically put into their autoship program in which they are authorized to mail you new shipments every month and charge you for it. Most people are unaware of this because the details about it are hidden deep within the fine print that nobody reads. This is where most people get scammed out of their money. I have give a hand to ColonSmart, however, because they actually made it pretty clear for the consumer to know that they were enrolling in such a program. Right before you put in your credit card number, they detail in normal printed font right below the input section. So if consumers are complaining about unauthorized charges, I think the responsibility is found with the consumer on this one.
Even though ColonSmart is rather upfront about their autoship, they have some other practices that are downright unethical. According to many of the complaints online, when consumers have tried to contact ColonSmart to cancel these automatic shipments and orders, they have encountered extreme difficulty in getting a refund, getting any answers, or even getting someone to even answer the phone call. Some have simply had to cancel their credit card number. Herein lies the real scam.
The other big red flag that I saw was their poor excuse of a guarantee. Apparently it’s nigh impossible to get a hold of the company to get a refund, but even if you are able to return your product, their return policy states that they charge a 35% restocking fee for all returns. So in the end, they still end up with more of you money than they should. It’s a win-lose. Either way, they win and you lose.
In conclusion, I have no reason to believe that ColonSmart won’t help with your colon cleansing. But I also have no reason to believe that they will provide you much of anything but a headache and lost money. While the autoship is clearly spelled out for the customer, the fact that they aren’t responsive to customers who wish to cancel it is downright unethical.
Is Colon xR a Scam?

Colon xR claims that it is a new and advanced colon cleansing formula. This claim turns out to be a little stretch of the truth, but that’s not the only red flag that I saw for Colon xR while reviewing it. This brief review will first take a look at this “advanced” formula and then spend more time on the business behind the product.
As already mentioned, Colon xR claims that they have some advanced formula in their colon cleansing product. But the supplement facts revealed a rather ordinary combination of high fiber-based ingredients. Don’t get me wrong, the ingredient profile looked good and is likely to be effective, but it’s certainly nothing like what Colon xR makes you try to think it is.
Now as for the company behind Colon xR, it all goes south from here. The company is located in Florida and is called SFL Nutrition, LLC. The Better Business Bureau gave them an F rating (the lowest possible). In the BBB report I found that 3,003 out of 3,502 complaints were unanswered by the company. That is an insane amount of unanswered complaints. The online complaint boards had quite a few posts that confirmed this type of poor customer service as well (more on this below).
When you first get on the Colon xR website, you are offered a free trial of the product. I’ve seen quite a few of these before, so I knew what to look for. I went straight for the fine print and found (explained in the terms and conditions) that by accepting the free trial, you are automatically enrolled in their autoship program in which they will mail you more product each month and automatically charge your credit card for it ($78.84). Convenient? Well it would be if the consumer knew about it. But unfortunately, most people wont read the fine print and will totally surprised when the unexpected charges hit. You have only 15 days to call and cancel before you’ll start seeing charges.
According to some of the online complaint boards, it also appears that consumers who have tried to contact Colon xR to either cancel the program or to resolve issues with the charges (because they didn’t realize they agreed to the autoship) have had a pretty hard time even getting a hold of anyone at the company. The BBB’s record of unanswered complaints seems to back up these claims.
To wrap it up, don’t waste your time or money on Colon xR. While the actual product seems to be as effective as any other, the shady business practices used by the company to scam people out of their money is just horrible.
Do I Need to Cleanse My Colon?

A healthy colon is essential to good health, which makes colon cleansing, parasite cleansing, and detoxing a must. Everything we eat ends up in our bowels as toxins. As these toxins build up, we end up with various diseases, such as being overweight, constipation and candida.
Why should you try a colon cleanse product? One word…Toxins.
If you found your way into this site, you’re probably suffering from some sort of ailment, whether it’s constipation, acne, candida, brain fog, or just a constant feeling of sluggishness. Most likely, that ailment is related some way to the colon.
You see, the colon is one organ that indirectly and directly affects all the other organs in the body. When it’s clogged up, the liver can’t do its job properly. When the liver can’t work efficiently, the kidney suffers, etc. So to start curing our symptoms and to get better, we must do a colon cleanse process.
The truth is our colon, for most of us, is in an unhealthy state, filled with mucoid plaque, toxins, and a complete mess. Our colon is clogged, leading to constipation. How did we reach this state? Through a combination of a bad diet, poor lifestyle choices, and bad living conditions.
Most Americans diet consists of too much protein. Although protein is necessary and completely healthy, too much can lead to over-acidity. If your body contains too much acid, it can damage your colon and deplete the necessary minerals and electrolytes from your body. This disables the colon to attack harmful bacteria, and toxins.
Overeating is a growing problem. Not only can weight gain be a huge problem, but overeating can have serious long-term effects. To be honest, we should only eat approximately one handful of food during one meal. Overeating makes our colon work harder and this leads to an overuse of enzymes.
Our environment is also another major cause for an unhealthy colon. Unless you live with the Eskimos, you probably are subjected to pollution, secondary smoking, harmful chemicals, pesticides, etc. every single day. Our immune system has to work overtime to rid our body of these nasty chemicals. This weakening of the immune system leads to a weakening of the colon as well.
Colon cleansing is a safe, alternative method to treat many of our symptoms and problems. It’s not just for people with constipation, but for anyone who wishes to feel better, and strengthen their inner organs. Cleansing is necessary to rid our body of toxins that accumulate as a result of an unhealthy diet, environmental pollution and chemicals, and a constant use of antibiotics.
Bowel cleansing not only cleanses your colon, but it indirectly cleans your small intestines, large intestines, and stomach as well. Trying a colon cleanse regiment can help anyone, even if you are not suffering from constipation.
Day after day our bodies are subject to unhealthy toxins. These toxins come from stress, overeating, under-eating, unhealthy diets, and environmental pollution. All of these toxins place a burden on our colon and make it work harder than it needs to. Cleaning our colons can remove these toxins and make our colon more efficiently.
Review of Evercleanse - Colon Cleanse Reviews

Evercleanse is one of the more popular colon cleansing products on the market. But is it everything that it claims to be? The review of Evercleanse will give you a better view of the product and the company that produces it to help you decide for yourself if it may be a good solution for you.
Evercleanse, like many colon cleansing products, uses a three step system designed to 1. clean you out, 2. replenish your system with good pathogens, and 3. support and maintain your colon after the cleaning. The ingredients in Evercleanse seem to be legit and able to do the job. So from an ingredient standpoint, I don’t see why Evercleanse wouldn’t work as it is supposed to.
The other thing to look at when deciding between colon cleanse products is the company behind the product. In terms of marketing, their website is nice and professional, but they use testimonials that are difficult/impossible to verify (they have no name, location, etc). I don’t put much stock in testimonials anyway since they are so easily made up.
I appears that Evercleanse uses a fulfillment company named 3PL Worldwide Inc. that was given an ‘F’ grade by the Better Business Bureau. Now, is this a deal breaker? Maybe not, but that’s up for you to decide.
I always like to see a good money back guarantee on these kinds of products. Evercleanse, however, doesn’t have one. This raises a red flag in my eyes. Something else worth noting is their ‘privacy’ policy states that they may actually sell your email address to a third party. Big red flag.
Evercleanse is priced relatively similar to other products on the market. A two week supply is $59.95 and a 6 week supply is $99.99.
To sum it all up, Evercleanse is a difficult one. The product seems reasonable, but the high number of red flags puts a bad taste in my mouth (no pun intended) for Evercleanse. They don’t guarantee their product and the thought of them selling my email address doesn’t sit well with me. But in the end, it’s your call.
