One of the most common New Years Resolutions is to lose weight. Its easy to say and harder to actually keep unless you have a plan. The first step in having a plan is to get informed. Here are some basic facts about several different diets. These dont all work for everyone, so thats why its important to learn about more than one. Eating good carbohydrates are encouraged and allow you to enjoy good-tasting, satisfying food and still lose weight!

3. Atkins Diet. The Atkins diet is almost the opposite of the South Beach diet, calling for you to get rid of all carbohydrates from you diet. Instead, it wants you to eat lean meats, proteins, fruits, nuts, and veggies. You can eat a variety of shakes and bars that the Atkins brand creates to add a little spice. In addition, the diet doesn’t require that you give up red meat or dairy products so you can still eat these.

4. The Oprah Diet. This diet was recently featured on the Oprah show and is listed on her website as well. It is really more of a lifestyle change than a diet. It calls for you to slowly phase out junk foods and bad eating habits. Gradually, you begin to eat healthier foods, and learn to make better choices when eating. You practice portion control and add exercise to your life. You don’t have to worry about counting calories. This diet may be a little bit hard at first, but is a more realistic plan to follow.

5. Master Cleanse. The Master Cleanse is not really a diet, but more of a fast used to get rid of toxins that can be harmful to your body. The cleanse is a 10-45 day cleanse, depending on how long your body will allow you to stay on it. It requires you to drink lemonade made with fresh lemon juice, cayenne pepper, maple syrup and water. This option is truly a battle of wills, as you try and convince yourself to stay on the diet. It is difficult, but the benefits are worth it if you are looking to lose a quick 10-15 pounds.

6. Add water to your diet. We all know that water is a healthier alternative to soda or other sugary drinks, but did you also know that it helps curb your hunger? Drinking a full glass of water before you eat will help fill you up so that you eat smaller portions. If you find yourself eating out of boredom, carry a water bottle with you instead of snacks. The extra water will keep you from becoming dehydrated and lethargic.

Whichever the diet you choose, know that choosing to eat better is a choice for a better life. Eating properly is a lifestyle and will improve the quality and possibly the length of your life. Try to be informed about any diet that you try and also talk to your doctor if you have any concerns. If you ever fall off of a diet or slip up, don’t worry, keep going. Believe me, it’s not easy for anyone.

After you have taken the first glass of master cleanse, you can take the wheat grass for the protein supplement. In between the day, always remember to keep yourself occupied so that you will not be distracted about diverting your concentration on fulfilling the master cleanse diet. The master cleanse diet is a very cost effective diet because it does not require you to have any special kind of ingredients to make it work. The main ingredients for the master cleanse are pure water, grade B Organic maple syrup, organic Cayenne pepper, organic lemons and sea salts. To increase its effectiveness as a cleanser, you can use secondary ingredients such as herbal laxative tea, psyllium husk, wheat grass, natural decaffeinated herbal tea and hoodia extract.

In the ingredient list for master cleanse diet, the most important one is actually the pure filtered water. Most people neglected the pure filtered water and use instead normal water. You must not use any other water. Reason being other water contains chlorine and bacteria. And chlorine itself is a poison and consuming chlorine water is defeating the purpose of the master cleanse diet.

The other ingredients like lemon juice must also be from organic and natural lemon juice and not processed lemon juice which is filled with sugar. The same goes for the maple syrup used in the master cleanse. The syrup must also be natural organic grade B maple syrup. Anything else is unsuitable as it is filled with added sugar. The cayenne pepper is usually in powdered form but you can also use the liquid type. Lastly as for the salt used, it must be sea salt and again must not be iodized type. The purpose of the salt is to be used as a laxative.

As mentioned earlier, you can use secondary ingredients to make your master cleanse more effective. You can use laxative tea as a substitute to replace sea salt if you are not partial to taking sea salts. Even though sea salts is actually more effective as a laxative, the laxative tea will do equally well the job. The two recommended brand of tea to use in the master cleanse diet are “Laxative Tea” and “Smooth Move tea”. The function of the psyllium husk is also a laxative. It is also fiber rich and will help you curb your hunger pangs. The wheat grass used as a secondary ingredient in the master cleanse diet is a strong antioxidant as it is filled with nutrients and vitamins. It is nicknamed super food because it provides more nutrients per weight ratio as compared to other forms of food. However the main reason for the wheat grass, in the master cleanse diet , is because it contain protein.

It may be a bore to take the lemonade all day throughout the master cleanse program. Hence, herbal tea is used. Master cleanse aims to clean up your body system which makes it very difficult to add things to spice the whole program up. We used hoodia to curb your hunger pangs so that you would not be distracted from the strict regime. Hence, it is recommended that you take hoodia together with the master cleanse to ensure you complete the whole program successfully.

Basically the master cleanse is a diet which requires you to drink mostly a lemonade cocktail for the duration of the master cleanse program. As the recipe for the master cleanse diet is a very simple and easy one to formulate. All that you need to do is to consume at least 60 ounces of lemonade per day but limited to 120 ounces. You also need to consume a lot of water while following the master cleanse. The reason is because the master cleanse acts as a laxative which removes wastes and toxin from your body. This will actually cause you to be dehydrated. To avoid dehydration, you should drink an equivalent of your weight in water. This means for example if you weight 150 pounds, you should consume 150 ounces of water.

For a single or a glass of the master cleanse, the recipe require that you have 10 ounces of filtered water, two table spoon of maple syrup, two tablespoon of lemon juice and 1/10 teaspoon of cayenne pepper. If you wish to make a daily servings of 60 ounces at one go then you will need 60 ounces of filtered water, 12 tablespoon of maple syrup, 12 tablespoon of lemon juice and teaspoon of cayenne pepper. But remember when you are preparing the master cleanse, you must use freshly squeezed lemon juice. This is because canned or processed juice already has lost much of its benefits.

Another factor to note is that you must use organic grade B maple syrup and not sugar filled syrup. And although the Cayenne pepper looks as if it can be excluded, it is actually very important. The cayenne actually helps to break down the mucus and promote a healthy blood flow. Beside this, it is also a rich source of Vitamins B and C. If you wish to add flavor to the lemonade, just use decaffeinated tea because caffeine constrict the blood vessels. During the master cleanse, we actually wishes to promote a good flow of the blood so that the waste and toxin can be easily removed from the body.

You can also use Hoodia to help you to control your hunger pangs but remember to follow the recommended dosage when you are mixing the hoodia with your lemonade. You can also add a natural laxative to the master cleanse if you are bored drinking lemonade all day long. Besides helping you to control your hunger pangs too, like the psyllium husk, it will also assist in removing hardened feces from the body.

As mentioned earlier, natural laxative can be used as an alternative for lemonade. Some of these natural laxative are herbal laxative tea, psyllium husk and sea salts. There are some of the best natural laxatives around to flushed out the toxins without the use of enemas. Use the above mentioned laxative twice daily and combining it with the master cleanse, you will get the maximum effectiveness. Just be sure to drink lots of water to prevent dehydration.
